LIL SAMBAS INTRODUCTION TO SOCCER

We'd like to invite all kids ages 3 to 12 to join our Lil Sambas Program. Our development model is inclusive to children at all levels of play. Whether the child is completely new to the game or continuing with a sport they already love, Li'l Sambas Soccer is a great way for kids to be introduced to the beautiful sport of soccer and get them active and for that all-important physical activity.

CREATING THE PERFECT LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Every session in every age-group is supervised by our professional coaching staff and always takes place on the latest generation of synthetic turf to ensure the best playing surface to master the soccer skills that will become the building blocks for the players' future development.

We will help foster intrinsic values by igniting a passion for the game in a fun-filled environment while eliminating extrinsic values by distancing our young soccer players from the external pressures of the adult game.

We'll never lose sight of the importance of fun in every session. Kids that aren't enjoying themselves rarely learn. The more fun the kids are having the more they learn.

Each week, your children will be working on their physical literacy, ball mastery and participating in small-sided games.

WEE COPAS 3 - 5 Years Old

For the WEE COPAS age group (2018,19 & 20 births), we have a parent/child portion to the program. We have found that the kids working directly with a parent under the instruction of a coach at that age group helps to accelerate their development and get more out of the program. A parent (or guardian) will be on the field with each participant during the physical literacy and practice sections of each session. It won't take any specialist coaching knowledge, our head coach will be instructing the parents and the kids, but it will help to keep the little ones focused and more able to pick it up when they have a familiar face working with them.

JABULANIS 6 - 7 YEARS OLD

In the JABULANIS age group (2016 & 17 births), the kids are participating without their parents, working closely in small groups with our coaches across a series of "stations" each week. Each station presents them with a different challenge to take on and a different skill to master.

TANGOS 8 - 9 YEARS OLD

Our TANGOS development programs (2014 & 15 births) are developmental programs more focused on working on skills with our coaches. More of these sessions are devoted to small-sided games mixed in with drills to continue the kids' development as they age.

AZTECAS 10 - 12 YEARS OLD

Our final age group, the AZTECAS (2011, 12 & 13 births) focuses heavily on ball mastery and working through the Futuro Core Skills Model. Our action-packed hour will help develop the 4 R's of technique:

  • Receiving skills: on the ground and in the air

  • Retaining the ball: protect and escape moves

  • Running with the ball: core dribbling techniques

  • Releasing the ball: ball-striking techniques on the ground and in the air
